Response Ideas
Not sure where we could go with this, but what if we had clippings from various magazines of either headlines in ads, key words, models, etc. (You know, so many magazines have a section with some new handbag or pair of shoes that is labeled "MUST HAVE FOR 2008" or something like that, and all these ads that promise happiness or acceptance if you use a certain kind of shampoo or cologne, etc.)
What if we had everyone look through and find one that was something they struggle with. (We could have some about material posessions, some about relationships, some about being the "perfect" spouse/parent/student, some about achieving at work or monetarily, the perfect house, etc.)
Then we could have them leave the words up front? Or maybe make a collage of them and do something with the collage?
Thoughts? Maybe this would be better in "Acceptance"...

I like the idea of cutting out or drawing pictures of what makes you feel secure and making a collage. It would be cool, although I can't figure out yet how to do it, if we pasted the pictures and created a cross that stood out from the picture (kind of like the church directory did). I'll think more on that and reply later.

Re: Response Ideas
How about a small piece, like sample sized of material playing off of the security blanket thing?

Love that idea!
What if we had scraps of fabric at the front and we either had a verse pre-written on it or had everyone pick one of a few verses that speak to security in God to write on it themselves... That way everyone gets a takeaway to hopefully remind them of the lesson.

Re: Response Ideas
I definitely have enough blankets to cut up upstairs, but need someone to own this and cut them up before this Sunday.

Re: Response Ideas
what do you guys think about using the cross upstairs and nailing the pieces of blanket to the cross and having people come up and take a piece?

Re: Response Ideas
I'll own it and cut them up. Where are they or do I need to provide? Let me know. I'm still feeling absolutely lousy, but better than yesterday, so I should be fine by the end of the week to do this. It's done.
